If winter storms leave you without power, heat, or ways to cook, come to the community hall - the oven, cooktop and heat are propane, and North Beach often has power & lights when other part of the island do not. Bring games, food to cook, and enjoy the time with others in the same situation. Contact the Community Club president for the key or more information.

There is propane heat and propane oven & cooktop, and perhaps shared food with neighbors in the same condition. All board members have keys, and Blue Heron Road usually has electric power. You can bring games, food, snacks, and have fun while awaiting the return of your power. Don't be cold. Come warm yourself in the company of neighbors.

Dec 3-6 Garden Club, Wreath & Swag Workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bring greens from trimmings, windfalls, etc. Bring hand pruners and wire cutters. Everyone is invited to come and learn how, and to help make wreaths for community mailboxes and doorways. Gail Hopley and Jacquie Stegner are hostesses for this event. Profits go to the Samish Island Fire Department, Camp Kirby and Friendship House.

SICC Board recommends $15 to help pay for the Shore Lines and other hall needs. You may also donate for special projects during the year.

Mar A program entitled, “HISTORY OF SAMISH ISLAND,” a sharing of early Samish Island stories, will be featured at 2 p.m. at the Skagit County Historical Museum in LaConner. The presenters will be Fred Miller, co-author of the recently published Samish Island; A History, and Gail Hopley, member of an early pioneer family who contributed to the assembling of much family history material. (This program is part of a 5-part Museum series)
