The main hall toward entry foyer & kitchen. The hall is large enough for dancing, small weddings, and parties.
Large windows provide a lovely bright space.
All windows have room-darkening shades for media presentations.
Kitchen is clean and bright with most equipment needed for rentals.
The covered barbecue area behind the building provides outdoor cooking and seating space

There is one small restroom in the hall.
Tables & chairs are available in the attached storage room as needed.

Note: The community hall is usually open for community use in emergencies. There is propane heat and propane oven & cooktop, and perhaps shared food with neighbors in the same condition. All board members have keys, and Blue Heron Road usually has electric power. You can bring games, food, snacks, fireplace wood, and have fun while awaiting the return of your power. Don't be cold. Come warm yourself in the company of neighbors.

How to Rent the Community Hall

Before Renting

1). Check the Hall Rental Schedule to see if the date you want is available. View the Hall Photos above to see what it looks like. Check the available equipment & supplies so you know what's there for your rental.

2). Schedule the hall by phoning Eileen Andersen at 766-8202, or email her at info@samishisland.net to reserve your event on the calendar above. Your name will appear on the calendar (reserved, paymt pending), until we receive your fee and deposit checks. You may borrow the key beforehand for a walk through. Arrange this with Eileen

3).
Print and sign the Hall Rental Agreement Form (doc; rtf; pdf). Fill out all information. Send the completed form with two checks (fee & deposit) made out to the Samish Island Community Club (SICC) to: Samish Island C.C., P.O. Box 268, Bow, WA 98232, Attn: Hall rental. We do not cash the deposit check, except in damage cases.

4). If you are serving liquor at your event, the Liquor Control Board banquet permit may apply to you. A banquet permit is not required when all of the following apply, according to their web site: a) The event is hosted by an individual, not an organization or business entity. b) There is no charge for admission for anything provided at the function (e.g., mixer, setup, ice, food, hors d’oeuvres, etc.). "Charge" includes admission charge, donation, dues, fees, or otherwise. c) The function would normally be held in the individual’s private home, but for space considerations, is held in a facility that is: 1) closed off to the general public during the function, and 2) does not have a liquor license. More FAQ's at the LCB web site.

5). Key: Call Eileen to schedule key pickup (evening before or morning of). Checking the hall the day before the rental helps determine what you might need that is not there.

Day of Rental

1) Turn on the heat if needed about 30-45 minutes before the event. The thermostat is to the left of the fireplace. Display your banquet permit, if required for your function (see #4 above).

2) Read the Checklist for Cleanup, for when you are finished.
3) Have a wonderful party.

After Renting

1) Use the Checklist for Cleanup to put things back in place in the hall.
2) Return the clean tablecloths to the hall, and the key to Eileen within 24 hours. If you rented for the "five-hour special" rate, you can pick up the key and return it to Eileen within the five hours agreed upon.

3) Your deposit check will be torn up after a visual inspection of the hall. Or, if you prefer, you may pick it up from Eileen.
