We try do too as little as possible on the island, but there are some events worthy of consideration:

Fourth of July Celebration - A summer community celebration (think makeshift floats, humorous & clever family/groups, old cars, firetrucks, flags, kids on trikes, bikes, strollers & electric vehicles). Always at 1 p.m., always on July 4, always fun.
Fine Arts Festivals - There are two arts festivals on the island, which you can read more about on the arts festivals Page. Also see the calendar page.
Island Christmas - A holiday celebration of the season, with island entertainers and children, usually held the third Saturday in December. Contact: Kitty Bluhm
Halloween Party - SICC asks any young and old adults to help plan and put on the island Halloween Party for children at the Community Center on October 31. Think of "scary activities for kids" and help plan this fun time for all.
Island-Wide Garage Sale - SICC organizes the island-wide garage sale day with balloons, signs, maps and other useful items for islanders who'd like to sell things on the same day. It is sually held towards the end of June, but check the Samish Shore Lines for the date. A fun day for all.
Island Potluck Dinners - Community potlucks are held three times yearly at the Community Center, usually September, January and May. We each bring a dish to share, chat with neighbors and have a speaker or program of interest to all. Check the Samish Shore Lines for dates.
