Two arts festivals are held each year on the island. The Summer Arts Festival, is always held the last Saturday in July, at the Community Hall. The Winter Arts Festival usually occurs in mid-November at the Community of Christ Church.

2009 Summer Arts Festival July 25

The 13th Annual Samish Island Arts Festival will be held on July 25, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Samish Island Community Hall.

2009 Art Poster This year's featured artist is Sharon O'Brien.

This Summer Arts Festival features original art, glass art, fiber arts, woodwork, jewelry, pottery, cards, photography, and garden art. The 2009 show will feature our favorite food vendor, Sigi's Breads and Cinnabuns. Lunch is available for purchase from Sigi's.

There is live music, and free door prizes are always a part of the fun. View colorful photos of the exhibits and vendors from past year's shows.

Check our maps page for driving directions to the island, or follow the signs along south Chuckanut Drive that day, which will show you the way.

2009 Holiday Arts Festival, November 14, 2009.

The 2009 Samish Island Holiday Arts Festival will be held on November 14, 10am-4pm (Saturday Only).

35-40 vendors will display fine arts and imaginative holiday gift ideas, so come and enjoy the arts of the Skagit Valley. From wearable arts to jewelry, photography, watercolors, stained glass, metal sculpture, greeting cards, and other arts, you are certain to find many items for gifts or yourself.

The Festival is held at the Community of Christ Church, 11507 Scott Road on Samish Island. Live music and small lunches are available. For more information, call 766-6362.

When you reach the island, you will see the Scott Road on your right just before the Samish Island sign. Turn right onto Scott Road. Drive about 300 feet. The church is the large gray building on your left.
