| July 1 | Inspect boats, engines, gear, etc. for crabbing, fishing and boating season. Be safe, be environmentally friendly. |

| July 3 | Samish Island Marching Band meets at 7 pm at the Community Hall for practice for the parade tomorrow. |
| July 4 | Fourth of July Parade & events, sponsored by the SICC begins around 1:00 p.m. Floats and participants begin forming at noon at Fish Point. Participate with humor for your neighbors' enjoyment. The Samish Island Marching Band starts the parade at 1:00 p.m. sharp! Notecards, hats, visors, Samish Island Book, will be for sale at the Community Hall. |
| July 5-9 | Vacation Bible School at Samish Island Memorial Chapel, 9:30 to 11:30 am each day. |
| July 8 | All of North Puget Sound is closed to recreational shellfish harvesting, beginning today, until biotoxin levels go down. The shellfish ban includes clams, oysters, mussels, scallops, geoducks and other species of molluscan shellfish. Crab is not included in the closure, but officials say "crab butter" and crab entrails should be discarded, and only the meat should be eaten. |
| July 14 | Save the Samish - A community meeting at Edison Elementary School Cafeteria to discuss the water quality problems in the Samish watershed, and how to protect our waters. 6 p.m. open house, 6:30 program. |
| July 14 | Crabbing season for the island (Area 7E) begins at 7 a.m. Summer crabbing is Wednesday through Saturdays only, plus the entire Labor Day weekend. "Winter crabbing" is open Wed to Sat., Sept 8 - 30. |

| July 31 | Annual Samish Island Arts Festival - at the Community Hall, from 10 am to 5 pm. Information for artists, call Janene at 766-6290. Live music, grilled oysters, Sigi's lunch and cinnamon rolls, great vendors. Plan now to attend. |

| Nov to Feb. | If winter storms leave you without power, heat, or ways to cook, come to the community hall - the oven, cooktop and heat are propane, and North Beach often has power & lights when other part of the island do not. Bring games, food to cook, and enjoy the time with others in the same situation. Contact the Community Club president for the key or more information. |
| December | Tide Calendars adjusted for Samish Island are available at Blau Oyster. $2.50, makes a great stocking stuffer. All sales benefit SICC. |
| Dec 2-4 | Garden Club: Join the fun of making wreaths and swags to benefit Camp Kirby, The Samish Island Fire Department and Friendship House. We start at 10:00 a.m. and work until 2:00 p.m. each day. Bring greens from trimmings, windfalls, etc. Bring hand pruners and wire cutters. Everyone is invited to come and learn how, and to help make wreaths for community mailboxes and doorways. |

| Dec 19 | Samish Island Christmas Program and Holiday Party, 7 p.m. at the Community of Christ Curch. The "Samish Island Sitting Band" begins playing at 6:30 p.m. Samish Island Band meets at 5:30 for final program rehearsal. Program begins at 6:30 p.m. Kitty Bluhm needs people for the Christmas program. If you sing, tell stories, have a poem to read, a skit to offer, or just like to help out somehow, contact Kitty at 766-4236. Bring a plate of goodies to share if you can, and stay to share Christmas greetings with neighbors. See Christmas Program web page. |
