Samish Shore Lines Newsletter

The Shore Lines is the monthly newsletter of the Samish Island Community Center. Editors are Charlene Day and Nancy Liggett, who edit every other month.

Articles and announcements for the next Shore Lines must be submitted in writing by 5:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month. You may submit via email to samishshorelines@gmail.com or send a hard copy to Samish Shore Lines, P.O. Box 268, Bow, WA 98232. You may also call Charlene 630-5654, or Nancy 766-8111.

Newsletter Delivery Methods

The Samish Shore Lines is distributed to Island newspaper boxes/delivery tubes each month by volunteers, or by email if you are on the SamishInfo Mailing List.

If would like to be on the print version delivery route, contact the newsletter editors, with your physical address. Make sure you have a newspaper tube or box attached under your mailbox. We cannot deliver to mailboxes.

Samish Shore Lines: Ads Policy

The Shore Lines prints ads submitted by Samish Island residents who contribute their annual SICC membership dues. Ads for off-island services cannot be accepted. Service providers: please advise Shore Lines in January if you wish to renew an ad for the current year, on the "every other month" basis.

Samish Shore Lines: Newsletter /Web Page History

1977 -- Jacquie Stegner began the original newsletter ("Island Chit-Chat") for the Community Center.
1981 -- Megan Nordlund took over as editor.
1984 -- Publication changed names to "the Samish Shore Lines."
1985 -- Susanne Blau became editor.
1990 -- Megan Nordlund edits again.
1993 -- Kathleen Packard and Caroline Baldie share editorship.
1997 -- Kathleen Packard became editor.
2003 -- Eileen Andersen created the first island web page & email group. The Samish Shore Lines began its "online edition".
2009 -- Kathleen Packard and Nancy Liggett share editorship, every other month.
2011 -- Charlene Day and Nancy Liggett share editorship, every other month.
